South Florida Microwedding – Covid Wedding – Boca Raton Wedding Photography

2020…the year of, “really??” Who would have ever thought we would be in the position that we’re in right now – July 2020, with weddings from back in March all the way through next spring being rescheduled all because some guy ate a bat.  Sometimes I still can’t believe this is the reality we’re living but if I try to have the half glass full outlook, micro-weddings and mini-monies are two of the things that I LOVE which have been born from Covid!

What are minimonies and microweddings, you ask?  Basically, a minimony is a small version of a wedding on the originally planned date – meant to ‘do the damn thang’ and get married legally with plans for a party in the future.

Microweddings are smaller scale weddings with all of the components of a ‘normal’ wedding, with a much smaller guest list.

Both have been such a breath of fresh air!  This wedding was what I’d call a minimony – just immediate family, in the groom’s family home.  Photos with grandma while Lindsey got dressed, ceremony photos, a surprise (adorable) getaway golf cart, family photos, a quick cake cutting and bride and groom photos – short and sweet!  All of this fit into the span of two hours, distant friends and family were able to log on via zoom and all the while they have the ‘big party’ next year to look forward to!

I love this new trend and I’m so excited to be shooting more of these this year!
